Marcedes Lewis’ Official statement on the release of Jack Del Rio

When I woke up this morning, I had no idea I’d be walking into the facility with anĀ interim Head Coach. This morning Coach Del Rio was relieved of his duties as the Head Coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. I’m still in shock that it had to happen right now, given we have five games still remaining on the schedule. This is obviously a very unfortunate and uncomfortable situation, not for just our organization and team, but for Jack Del Rio and his family.

I know I speak for my entire team when I say that we have nothing but respect and love for Coach Del Rio. Personally, I’m now in my sixth year as a Jacksonville Jaguar. In 2006, Coach Del Rio anchored an organization that gave me my first opportunity at doing what I love to do at the highest level possible. He’s always treated me like a man and respected me as such- for that I am greatly appreciative!

Well put…. it is a sad say day for the Jaguars and it’s fan base. We all knew the change was coming though. Glad to see so many players supporting Jack the same way he does his players through good times or bad. He will be missed, but it’s time to move on….

Well said. I’m sad to see him go. I wish him and his family the best; watching on the outside as a fan I always thought he did things the right way. Good luck to him and the team!

It was a great ride, but every ride comes to an end. Thanks Jack for all the memories. Marcedes, that was a great statement and I hope that you are a Jag for a long time. I’ll support you as a fan through thick and thin.
